Why we install it

Our take on Sigenergy.

We install SigenStor because it fits almost any home we see in Canberra: single phase or three phase, a modest battery or a large one, with room to add modules or a DC EV charger later. It goes up quickly and tidily, and the mySigen app is one of the clearest we hand over.

What they make: SigenStor modular all-in-one systems — 5 and 8 kWh battery modules, single- and three-phase hybrid inverters from 5 to 25 kW, optional integrated DC EV charger (12.5–25 kW), gateway for backup, and the mySigen app with.

  1. 1

Grows with you: one to six battery modules on one controller, and module sizes can be mixed.

  2. 2

Three-phase homes can have all three phases backed up in a blackout, with the right gateway.

  3. 3

An optional DC EV charger slots into the same stack.

Sigenergy SigenStack commercial battery

Sigenergy's commercial battery, built as a stack: SigenStack BAT 12.0 modules (12.06 kWh each) on a split-mounted main and sub base, run by a SigenStack battery controller, with a cover and the controller cables. It pairs with a Sigen PV M1 hybrid inverter (the HYB series for backup). Two configurations are listed: eight modules on a 1C controller (96.48 kWh usable) and Sigenergy's nine-module 0.5C configuration (108.54 kWh usable, 0.46C with a 50 kW inverter). We design every site, and other configurations are quoted to suit.

Know before you buy

The honest picture.

Where they stand

Upper-mid to premium. Evidence: named #1 battery manufacturer behind-the-meter in Australia for 2025 in the SunWiz 2026 awards using Clean Energy Regulator REC-registry data; 1st in the 2026 SolarQuotes Installer's Choice Awards for home batteries with 26% of 125 installer votes, and 2nd for inverters with 22%; listed on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange in April 2026 raising HK$4.4bn.

The warranty, in practice

Ten years on the battery modules and the energy controller, five years on the gateway, two years on the power sensor and communications modules. Capacity guarantee is 70% usable capacity at year 10 or a throughput cap — 15.85 MWh per 5 kWh module, 23.77 MWh per 8 kWh module — whichever comes first, which matters if you intend to cycle hard on a VPP. Owners of recalled single-phase energy controllers received a free replacement plus a two-year warranty extension. Claims go through the installer or service partner.

Who it suits

Households wanting battery, hybrid inverter, backup and optionally DC EV charging as a single stack from one manufacturer — and particularly three-phase homes, common in newer Canberra and NSW builds, that want seamless backup across all three phases.

What to watch

This is the big one: in November 2025 the ACCC published a voluntary recall (PRA 2025/20703) of single-phase SigenStor EC 8.0, 10.0 and 12.0 kW energy controllers because the quick-connect AC plugs could overheat and catch fire. The remedy was a firmware throttle, a free replacement controller with a redesigned plug, and a two-year warranty extension.
