Sigenergy / EV charging
AC charging rangeSigen EV AC Charger
Sigenergy's AC charger range includes 7, 11 and 22 kW variants. The suitable variant depends on your supply and vehicle.
Power and supply
Fully installed, including GST. That is the system, the standard changeover, both trades, the compliance certificates and removal of your old unit. What counts as standard is spelled out below.
WHAT THE PRICE COVERS
Installed, not just delivered.
Sigenergy makes six real versions of this charger: three power levels, each with a tethered cable or a socket. The power level is the hardware, not a setting – the 7 kW is a single-phase unit and the 11 and 22 kW are three-phase units, so your supply decides which ones are even available to you.
Included in a standard installation
- Supply and delivery of the charger
- A licensed electrician, and a site check before we give you a price
- One new dedicated circuit from your switchboard, with up to 10 m of cable run
- RCBO circuit protection at the board, using an existing spare way
- A maximum demand assessment, so the charger cannot overload your mains
- Mounting on a solid external or garage wall
- Full testing: insulation resistance, earth continuity, polarity, RCD trip and loop impedance
- Certificate of electrical safety in the ACT, or certificate of compliance in NSW, lodged for you
- Commissioning, setting the current limit to suit your supply, and app setup with you
What can add to it
None of these are hidden surprises. We look for every one of them before quoting, and if any apply you will see the cost in writing before anything is ordered.
- Cable run beyond the 10 m allowance, charged per metre
- Switchboard work where there is no spare way, no RCD, or ceramic fuses
- A full switchboard replacement, which older Canberra homes often need
- Upgrading from single phase to three phase, which involves your distributor
- Trenching or underground conduit to a detached garage or carport
- Core drilling or chasing through double brick or rendered walls
- Asbestos in the meter board backing or wall sheeting
- A load management sensor where your supply cannot carry the charger at full output
- A metering upgrade where your distributor requires one
- A Sigen Power Sensor, needed for dynamic load management
- A Type 2 charging lead if you choose the socket version
So what counts as a standard job?
Your switchboard has a spare way and modern RCD protection, the charger goes on a solid wall within about ten metres of the board, and the cable runs on the surface or through a cavity rather than underground. Single storey, no asbestos, and your existing supply can carry the charger without an upgrade.
Your selected charger
- Model codeThe code on your quote and your warranty registration
- SpecificationThe figures that decide whether it fits where the old one sat
- WarrantyDifferent parts of the system are covered for different lengths of time
- Enclosure
- IP65 with an IK10 reinforced glass front
- Operating range
- -30 C to +55 C with no derating
- Connectivity
- 4G, Wi-Fi and Ethernet, with OCPP 1.6J
- Solar charging
- Charges from surplus solar when paired with a SigenStor system
- Circuit breaker
- B-curve MCB, which is not the same thing as a Type B RCD
- Dedicated circuit
- Always required for a hardwired charger, under AS/NZS 3000
- RCD type
- Type A, 30 mA. Both chargers detect DC fault current internally, so the far more expensive Type B is not needed
- ACT supply limit
- We confirm your single-phase limit with Evoenergy for your address before quoting a kW figure
- Standards
- AS/NZS 3000 wiring rules, IEC 61851-1, Type 2 connector to IEC 62196-2
There is no federal certificate discount on an EV charger. Unlike solar, batteries and hot water, chargers are not part of the small-scale scheme, so any quote showing a rebate on the charger itself is wrong. In the ACT the Sustainable Household Scheme can finance the charger, the installation and even a three-phase upgrade at 3% over up to ten years. NSW has no household charger incentive at the moment.

BACKED BY US, NOT JUST THE MANUFACTURER
A 1-year workmanship warranty on the installation, and the manufacturer’s warranty on the EV charger.
The manufacturer covers the EV charger itself. We cover our installation work: for 1 year from the date of installation, a defect that comes from our workmanship is put right by us — repaired, re-done, or the affected installation part replaced — at our cost and at our choice of remedy.
- It covers our work, not the product. A fault in the EV charger itself is a manufacturer warranty matter.
- Keep your rights. It adds to the Australian Consumer Law guarantees, never replaces them.
- What it does not cover: damage from misuse, changes or repairs by someone else, storms, surges and grid events, pests and corrosion, building movement, ordinary wear, and internet or monitoring problems. A call-out where no workmanship fault is found may be charged.
- To claim: email engineering@solar4life.com.au or call 1300 997 005 with your name, the installation address, what is wrong and photos. Tell us promptly; delay can affect a claim.
