Solar and batteries in Batemans Bay and Moruya

Batemans Bay is 146 km from our Mitchell base by road, and Moruya sits at the edge of our area. On the coast the salt air, bushfire-prone land and holiday homes all change what a good system looks like.
In short
- Salt air calls for marine-grade fixings and corrosion-resistant hardware, which we specify as standard on the coast.
- Blackout-prone lines and holiday homes make battery backup one of the most common requests here.
- The same system usually costs about 15–30% more than our website prices, confirmed in writing before you commit.

What we install on the coast
- Rooftop solar with Jinko and AIKO panels and GoodWe, Sungrow or Sigenergy inverters
- Home batteries from Sigenergy, Tesla Powerwall 3 and GoodWe, added to new or existing solar
- EV chargers, single-phase or three-phase, set up to charge from your solar
- Heat pump hot water from iStore and Reclaim, replacing old electric or gas units
- Off-grid and backup systems for properties at the end of long lines or beyond the grid
- Commercial solar for sheds, shops, offices and farms
Salt air and corrosion
Sea spray slowly eats ordinary fasteners and frames. Around Batemans Bay, Malua Bay, Broulee and Moruya we use marine-grade fixings and corrosion-resistant hardware, and we place inverters and batteries where they are sheltered from the worst of the weather.
Backup for blackouts and holiday homes
Coastal lines are exposed to storms and bushfire, and outages can last. A battery set up for backup keeps the fridge, lights, internet and water pump going. For holiday homes that sit empty for weeks at a time, solar and a battery can keep the house powered and monitored while you are away, and you can check on it from your phone.
Much of the coast is mapped as bushfire-prone land, which affects where equipment can go and how cables are run. We check the mapping before we design.
Rebates and pricing
The prices on this website are for the ACT and within 35 km of Canberra. Out here the same system usually costs about 15–30% more, for travel, time away and the warranty responsibility that comes with distance. We confirm the final price in writing before you commit to anything. Moruya and the towns south of it are at the edge of our area, so we confirm those by phone before booking a site visit.
Every NSW home gets the same federal support as Canberra: small-scale technology certificates (STCs) come off the price of solar panels, and the Cheaper Home Batteries Program takes a tiered amount off an approved battery. Both are applied on your quote, so there is nothing to claim afterwards.
NSW’s upfront battery installation incentive has been closed to households since July 2025. What NSW does offer is a one-off incentive when you sign a battery up to a virtual power plant (VPP), and discounts on eligible heat pump hot water through the NSW Energy Savings Scheme. The ACT’s Sustainable Household Scheme loans are for ACT homes only. Our incentives page has the current figures, and your quote shows each discount as its own line.
How a job out here works
- Send us your address, a few photos of your roof and a recent power bill, or use the quote form.
- We design the system from satellite imagery and your photos, and tell you up front how the site visit will be handled. For distant jobs we pair it with other work nearby.
- You get a written, itemised price with every rebate applied before you commit.
- Our own team installs, commissions and registers the system with the network, and stays your point of contact afterwards.

Common questions
Do you use marine-grade fixings?
Yes. On the coast we use marine-grade fixings and corrosion-resistant hardware as standard, and keep inverters and batteries out of the direct weather.
Can I monitor a holiday home’s solar and battery remotely?
Yes. The systems we install come with an app, so you can see what the house is producing and using, and whether the battery is charged, from anywhere.
How much more does it cost on the coast?
Usually about 15–30% more than the prices on our website, for travel and time away. We confirm the final figure in writing before you commit.
Can I get the NSW battery rebate here?
The NSW upfront battery installation incentive has been closed to households since July 2025, so the main discount on a new battery is the federal Cheaper Home Batteries Program, which we apply on your quote. If you sign the battery up to a virtual power plant you can also earn a one-off NSW incentive through the VPP provider.
Your next step
Send us your address, a few photos and a recent bill. If it is a holiday home, tell us how often you are there and we will design around it.
