Illustration of a home with rooftop solar panels, a wall battery and an electric car charging, for Woden, Weston Creek and Molonglo

Woden Valley is about 24 km from our Mitchell workshop, and Weston Creek and the Molonglo Valley about 41 km. Website prices apply across all three, from the established streets of Curtin, Hughes and Rivett to the new homes in Coombs, Wright, Denman Prospect and Whitlam.

In short

  • Website prices apply in Woden, Weston Creek and Molonglo.
  • Established homes in Woden and Weston Creek often need a switchboard check before a battery or EV charger.
  • New Molonglo homes are mostly all-electric, which suits solar, a battery and heat pump hot water designed together.

What we install in Woden, Weston Creek and Molonglo

Established suburbs

Woden and Weston Creek were among Canberra’s first planned towns, and many homes still have older switchboards. If you are adding a battery or EV charger we check the switchboard first and show any upgrade as its own line. Mature trees can shade roofs, so we map the shade before placing panels.

All-electric homes in the Molonglo Valley

The ACT stopped new gas network connections from December 2023, so most homes built in Coombs, Wright, Denman Prospect and Whitlam since then run entirely on electricity. That makes it worth designing solar, a battery, EV charging and heat pump hot water together, sized for winter heating as well as summer.

If you are still building, talk to us before the roof goes on if you can. We can advise on which roof faces to keep clear, how much switchboard space to leave and where the battery should go.

Connecting to the grid

Every Canberra home connects to the Evoenergy network. Evoenergy approves the connection and sets an export limit for your system; we lodge the application on your behalf and design to the limit it approves.

Rebates and pricing

Website prices apply as they stand everywhere in Canberra: the packages and prices on this site are what you pay here, before any changes you ask for.

Every Canberra home gets the federal support: small-scale technology certificates (STCs) come off the price of solar panels, and the Cheaper Home Batteries Program takes a tiered amount off an approved battery. Both are applied on your quote, so there is nothing to claim afterwards.

ACT homes can also spread the cost of a battery, EV charger or heat pump hot water with a Sustainable Household Scheme loan: $2,000 to $20,000 at 3% over up to 10 years, through Brighte (rooftop solar on its own isn’t eligible). Owner-occupiers with a Pensioner Concession, DVA Gold or Health Care Card may also qualify for the Home Energy Support Program, which covers half the cost of rooftop solar up to $2,500. Our incentives page has the current details, and your quote shows each discount as its own line.

Common questions

Are website prices the same in Weston Creek and Molonglo?

Yes. All of Canberra is inside the zone where our website prices apply as they stand.

I am building in Whitlam. When should I talk to you?

Ideally before the roof goes on, so we can advise on roof faces, switchboard space and the battery location. If you already have the keys, we design around what is there.

Can I use the Sustainable Household Scheme loan for solar?

Not for solar panels on their own. The loan covers batteries, EV chargers, heat pump hot water and other electric upgrades, so many people use federal discounts for the solar and the loan for the battery.

Who approves my solar connection?

Evoenergy, the network for all of Canberra. We lodge the connection application for you and design the system to the export limit Evoenergy approves.

Your next step

Tell us your address, and whether the home is all-electric. We will come back with a design and an itemised price within a business day.
