Illustration of a heat pump hot water system beside a home, for Canberra's inner south

The inner south is about 18 km from our Mitchell workshop. We install solar, batteries, EV chargers and heat pump hot water in Griffith, Forrest, Red Hill, Kingston, Narrabundah, Deakin, Yarralumla and the suburbs around them, and commercial solar for businesses in Fyshwick and Symonston.

In short

  • Website prices apply across the inner south.
  • Larger, older homes heated through Canberra winters need solar and batteries sized for winter, not just summer.
  • Commercial solar for workshops, warehouses and showrooms in Fyshwick and Symonston.

What we install in the inner south

Bigger, older homes and winter heating

Many inner-south homes are larger and older, and heating them through a Canberra winter is often the biggest part of the power bill, especially after switching away from gas. We size solar and batteries from your winter use as well as your summer use, and look at heat pump hot water as part of the same plan.

Some homes are heritage-listed or in heritage precincts, where panels visible from the street may need ACT Heritage Council advice. We check before we design.

Businesses in Fyshwick and Symonston

Warehouses, workshops and showrooms in Fyshwick and Symonston usually have big, low-pitched roofs and use most of their power during the day, which is where solar pays back fastest. See commercial solar for how we size and price a business system.

Connecting to the grid

Every Canberra home connects to the Evoenergy network. Evoenergy approves the connection and sets an export limit for your system; we lodge the application on your behalf and design to the limit it approves.

Rebates and pricing

Website prices apply as they stand everywhere in Canberra: the packages and prices on this site are what you pay here, before any changes you ask for.

Every Canberra home gets the federal support: small-scale technology certificates (STCs) come off the price of solar panels, and the Cheaper Home Batteries Program takes a tiered amount off an approved battery. Both are applied on your quote, so there is nothing to claim afterwards.

ACT homes can also spread the cost of a battery, EV charger or heat pump hot water with a Sustainable Household Scheme loan: $2,000 to $20,000 at 3% over up to 10 years, through Brighte (rooftop solar on its own isn’t eligible). Owner-occupiers with a Pensioner Concession, DVA Gold or Health Care Card may also qualify for the Home Energy Support Program, which covers half the cost of rooftop solar up to $2,500. Our incentives page has the current details, and your quote shows each discount as its own line.

Common questions

Should I add a battery if I am switching off gas?

Often, yes. Electric heating moves more of your use into winter evenings, which is when a battery helps most. We size it from your bills, including your winter ones.

Do you install commercial solar in Fyshwick?

Yes. We design to your daytime use and the network export limit, and handle the connection paperwork.

Can I use the Sustainable Household Scheme loan for solar?

Not for solar panels on their own. The loan covers batteries, EV chargers, heat pump hot water and other electric upgrades, so many people use federal discounts for the solar and the loan for the battery.

Who approves my solar connection?

Evoenergy, the network for all of Canberra. We lodge the connection application for you and design the system to the export limit Evoenergy approves.

Your next step

Tell us your address and send a winter bill if you have one. We will come back with a design and an itemised price.
