Solar and batteries in Gungahlin

Our workshop is in Mitchell, on the edge of Gungahlin, so this is our home district: site checks are quick to arrange, and we are never far away if you need us after installation. We install solar, batteries, EV chargers and heat pump hot water across Gungahlin, from Crace and Franklin to Throsby and Taylor.
In short
- Our Mitchell workshop is about 5 km from the Gungahlin town centre, so site checks and follow-up visits are quick.
- Many Gungahlin homes are townhouses or units; we provide the documents your owners corporation asks for.
- Website prices apply, and ACT homes can add a 3% Sustainable Household Scheme loan for a battery, EV charger or heat pump.

What we install in Gungahlin
- Rooftop solar with Jinko and AIKO panels and GoodWe, Sungrow or Sigenergy inverters
- Home batteries from Sigenergy, Tesla Powerwall 3 and GoodWe, added to new or existing solar
- EV chargers, single-phase or three-phase, set up to charge from your solar
- Heat pump hot water from iStore and Reclaim, replacing old electric or gas units
- Off-grid and backup systems for properties at the end of long lines or beyond the grid
- Commercial solar for sheds, shops, offices and farms
Newer homes, townhouses and compact roofs
Most of Gungahlin was built from the 1990s on, so switchboards are usually in good shape for a battery or EV charger. Roofs on newer blocks can be compact and split into several faces, so we design the panel layout around each face rather than squeezing everything onto one.
Townhouses and units need owners corporation approval before work starts. We provide the drawings, product details and insurance documents committees usually ask for, so approval doesn’t hold the job up.
Connecting to the grid
Every Canberra home connects to the Evoenergy network. Evoenergy approves the connection and sets an export limit for your system; we lodge the application on your behalf and design to the limit it approves.
Rebates and pricing
Website prices apply as they stand everywhere in Canberra: the packages and prices on this site are what you pay here, before any changes you ask for.
Every Canberra home gets the federal support: small-scale technology certificates (STCs) come off the price of solar panels, and the Cheaper Home Batteries Program takes a tiered amount off an approved battery. Both are applied on your quote, so there is nothing to claim afterwards.
ACT homes can also spread the cost of a battery, EV charger or heat pump hot water with a Sustainable Household Scheme loan: $2,000 to $20,000 at 3% over up to 10 years, through Brighte (rooftop solar on its own isn’t eligible). Owner-occupiers with a Pensioner Concession, DVA Gold or Health Care Card may also qualify for the Home Energy Support Program, which covers half the cost of rooftop solar up to $2,500. Our incentives page has the current details, and your quote shows each discount as its own line.

Common questions
How soon can you do a site check in Gungahlin?
Our workshop is in Mitchell, so a Gungahlin site check is easy to fit in. Ask for a quote and we will be in touch within a business day to book it.
Do you install on townhouses?
Yes. Once your owners corporation approves the work, we install as usual. We provide the documents the committee needs to make that decision.
Can I use the Sustainable Household Scheme loan for solar?
Not for solar panels on their own. The loan covers batteries, EV chargers, heat pump hot water and other electric upgrades, so many people use federal discounts for the solar and the loan for the battery.
Who approves my solar connection?
Evoenergy, the network for all of Canberra. We lodge the connection application for you and design the system to the export limit Evoenergy approves.
Your next step
Tell us your address and roughly what you spend on power. We will come back with a design and an itemised price within a business day.
