Commercial

Sigen PV M1 hybrid inverter with backup

The HYB version of the commercial hybrid inverter: 50 kW to 110 kW, three phase, with a backup load port and seamless switchover so the site keeps running on and off grid, ready for a SigenStack battery. Up to eight MPPT, IP66.

Including GST. Supply only — installation, switchboard work, metering and any backup wiring are quoted separately.

WHY THIS INVERTER

50 to 110 kW, same inverter underneath.

Every size in this family shares the same hardware, warranty and battery support. What changes is how much power it can push into your home and how many panels it can carry.

Works with SigenStack commercial battery

Batteries are not interchangeable. Compatibility depends on the voltage window, stack size and the manufacturer approved list, so check the pairing before you buy.

Quiet and outdoor rated

IP66 rated for outdoors. Keep it out of direct afternoon sun so it does not throttle back in the heat.

String voltages, MPPT ranges, protection classes and the full standards list are on the manufacturer datasheet. We check them against your roof, your switchboard and your network limits before quoting.

If the power goes out, will this keep my house running?

Not on its own. Every grid connected inverter has to shut down in a blackout so it cannot energise the network while linesmen are working on it. To keep circuits alive you need three things together: a battery, an inverter with a backup output, and that backup actually wired to a separate circuit board. This family has no backup output, so it will not run your home in a blackout.

Why is the inverter smaller than my panels?

That is the standard Australian design, not a shortcut. Panels almost never produce their rated output once you account for heat, angle, dust and cloud, so a slightly larger array keeps the inverter working in its efficient range for more of the day. The rebate rules allow an array up to 133% of the inverter’s rated output, and the rebate is calculated on panel capacity. The energy lost to clipping is a fraction of a percent a year.

Can I add a battery later, or do I need to decide now?

You can add one later either way. You can replace the inverter with a hybrid, or add a separate battery inverter alongside and keep your existing one running. A hybrid costs a little more up front, so it is worth it when the battery is genuinely coming rather than a maybe.

Is a more efficient inverter worth paying for?

Barely. Across reputable brands the spread is under one percentage point, which is in the order of ten or twenty dollars a year on a typical home. Warranty terms, whether there is a service presence in Australia, and which batteries it supports are worth far more than a decimal point.

How big an inverter am I allowed?

Your network sets the ceiling. In the ACT that is typically 5 kVA per phase, and in NSW around 5 kW per phase, with the exact figure depending on your distributor and your street. Whether your home is single or three phase is the first thing that decides it, so it is the first thing we check.

BACKED BY US, NOT JUST THE MANUFACTURER

A 10-year workmanship warranty on solar and battery installations.

Manufacturers cover their products. We cover the installation. For 10 years from practical completion, a defect that comes from our workmanship in installing your solar panels, inverter or battery — the mounting, the cabling, the installation work — is put right by us: repaired, re-done, or the affected installation part replaced, at our cost and at our choice of remedy.

  • It stays with the home. Sell up, and the new owner gets the remainder, on the same terms.
  • Switchboard, EV charger and heat pump installation work carries its own 1-year workmanship warranty from the date of installation.
  • It covers our work, not the products. A panel, inverter or battery fault is a manufacturer warranty matter, with its own period.
  • What it does not cover: damage from misuse, changes or repairs by someone else, storms, surges and grid events, pests and corrosion, building movement, ordinary wear, and internet or monitoring problems. A call-out where no workmanship fault is found may be charged.
  • Keep your rights. It adds to the Australian Consumer Law guarantees, never replaces them.
  • To claim: email engineering@solar4life.com.au or call 1300 997 005 with your name, the installation address, what is wrong and photos. Tell us promptly; delay can affect a claim.

Residential installations. The full terms are in your installation agreement.
