iStore / Hot water
All-in-oneiStore heat pump
An all-in-one heat pump hot water system in two sizes. Compressor and tank in one cylinder, so it goes where your old electric tank sat.
Tank size
Fully installed, including GST. That is the system, the standard changeover, both trades, the compliance certificates and removal of your old unit. What counts as standard is spelled out below.
WHAT THE PRICE COVERS
Installed, not just delivered.
One cylinder, two sizes. As a rule of thumb 180 litres suits one to three people and 270 litres suits four or more, but how you use hot water matters more than how many of you there are.
Included in a standard installation
- Supply and delivery of the complete system
- A licensed plumber and a licensed electrician, both trades included
- Removal and disposal of your old hot water unit and all packaging
- Reconnection to your existing water pipework, in the existing position
- Full valve set: isolation, non-return, pressure limiting, PTR and a tempering valve
- Reconnection to existing electrical cabling, with isolation switch and safety switch
- Plumbing compliance certificate and certificate of electrical safety
- Commissioning, timer set-up and a walk through of how to run it
- Warranty registration and all government certificate paperwork
What can add to it
None of these are hidden surprises. We look for every one of them before quoting, and if any apply you will see the cost in writing before anything is ordered.
- Moving the system to a new position, which means new pipe runs and often a new base
- A new dedicated circuit, or switchboard work where there is no spare way or no safety switch
- Moving off a controlled load tariff to continuous supply, where your retailer charges to do it
- A new concrete pad or pavers where the old base is undersized, unlevel or rotten
- Crane or difficult access: rooftop, courtyard-only entry, a steep block or a narrow side passage
- Asbestos in eaves, meter boards or wall sheeting, which needs a licensed removalist
- A condensate discharge point where there is no legal one within reach
- Gas decommissioning and meter removal if you are coming off gas
- An internal or upper-level tank, which needs a safe tray and a drain
So what counts as a standard job?
Your existing unit sits outside at ground level, on a sound base, somewhere we can reach without special access. The new system goes back in the same place, using the existing water pipework and a straightforward electrical run to the switchboard. Single storey, no asbestos, and no tariff change needed.

The certificate discount shown is an estimate for Canberra's zone at the current certificate price, and it moves with the market. What matters in everyday use.
Drops straight into the old tank's footprint
Two independent daily timers to run it on solar
App control on the 270 litre model
Could it suit your home?
Households swapping an electric storage tank for something cheaper to run, without the complexity or cost of a split system.
Check before you choose
R290 is a flammable refrigerant, which sets clearance rules around the unit and rules out some enclosed spaces. We check the position on site before quoting.

BACKED BY US, NOT JUST THE MANUFACTURER
A 1-year workmanship warranty on the installation, and the manufacturer’s warranty on the heat pump hot water system.
The manufacturer covers the heat pump hot water system itself. We cover our installation work: for 1 year from the date of installation, a defect that comes from our workmanship is put right by us — repaired, re-done, or the affected installation part replaced — at our cost and at our choice of remedy.
- It covers our work, not the product. A fault in the heat pump hot water system itself is a manufacturer warranty matter.
- Keep your rights. It adds to the Australian Consumer Law guarantees, never replaces them.
- What it does not cover: damage from misuse, changes or repairs by someone else, storms, surges and grid events, pests and corrosion, building movement, ordinary wear, and internet or monitoring problems. A call-out where no workmanship fault is found may be charged.
- To claim: email engineering@solar4life.com.au or call 1300 997 005 with your name, the installation address, what is wrong and photos. Tell us promptly; delay can affect a claim.
Residential installations. The full terms are in your installation agreement.
Specifications on this page are taken from iStore’s published documentation for the Australian model. We confirm the exact model, how it works with your existing equipment and the current warranty terms before you accept a written quote.
