Your solar consultation checklist

PREPARE ONCE. ASK BETTER QUESTIONS.
A useful first conversation starts with your home, your routine and what you want to change. Bring what you have; you do not need every answer to get started.
Your preparation checklist
Tick off the items you have ready. This checklist stays on this page only and is not submitted.
01 / Tell us about a typical day
Note when people are home, when major appliances run and what changes across the week. Mention planned changes such as working from home, an electric vehicle or a growing household.
02 / Bring the existing-system details
If you already have solar, bring its installation paperwork or the model details you can find in your records. Include any monitoring information and the changes you would like to make. You can leave unknown answers for the assessment.
03 / Make your priorities specific
Instead of simply asking for a battery, describe what you want it to do. If backup matters, make a list of the circuits or appliances you want to discuss. If an EV is planned, note where it will park and when it is usually at home.
04 / Compare the complete proposal
Ask each proposal to identify the equipment models, installation inclusions, additional work, responsibilities for approvals, monitoring setup and handover documents. Keep your questions together so you can compare responses consistently.
Questions to take into the meeting
What assumptions have been used? What still needs a site assessment? Which items are optional? Who is my contact during installation? What information will I receive at handover? How do I request support afterwards?
Bring this checklist to your consultation.
